We know God speaks, but how do we know when God speaks to me personally? Is it an audible voice? How can I be sure that I am hearing Him? Some of us may feel like we are missing out or we can’t identify His voice amongst the noise of our day to day lives. Think about all the things competing for your attention every day—family, schedules, work, social media, streaming services, and more. Jesus promised us that we'll know His voice. How do you cut through the noise to listen? Let’s talk about hearing God’s voice over the next few weeks.
We were designed and created for the community. With God and with each other. God models the importance of presence, by coming to be with us. There is a common desire among all people to be known, accepted and loved. Jesus offers that to each and every one of us. He chose to be with us, even at times when no one else does.
We will look at John 3 and 4, compare and contrast Nicodemus (John 3) and the Samaritan Woman (John 4) at the well.
Every major decision of our life is impacted by what we choose to do with Jesus. In John chapters 3 and 4, we see two different characters from different backgrounds, who are each given an opportunity to respond to who Jesus is. Their responses may surprise you. Is He is Lord and Savior, or is He just another good person with good advice? Are we a follower or a fan? Who do you say He is? We all must make a decision on what to do with Jesus. As a Church, our goal is to give everyone the opportunity to say "Yes" to Jesus!
The church is the greatest movement the world has ever known. As she shares the gospel, the church is the hope of the world. The church is active, moving and is on the offense, and the gates of hell can’t stand against it. God has invited us as a church, and you as an individual to play a part in the mission. Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to be SENT.
There is only one creator, and He is worthy of our worship. No other God. Everything has a beginning. Including you. The purpose of Genesis is a foreshadowing of the gospel. Thousands of years before the name of Jesus is ever spoken.
