The Unspoken Prayers

Passage: The Psalms Psalm 88:1-18

Many of the psalms are worship songs, but we would not sing many of them in our churches today! The hurt experienced and expressed by many of the writers of the Bible would not be discussed in many churches today. The gospels described 39 different emotions of Jesus, yet he did not sin. He was tempted in every way we are, yet he did not sin (Hebrews 4:15). We will begin the series by looking at the hard truths of Scripture, and in doing so, break down some of the myths that exist in around mental health within the Church today.

Series Information

The Bible has a lot to say about struggling, pain and hurt.  Psalms is the biggest book of the Bible, but many of the Psalms get overlooked and misunderstood.  They are prayers of hurting people. Do you ever feel trapped by your thoughts and emotions? On the outside you’re holding it together, but inside you’re struggling. If you wonder if you’ll ever feel better, you're not alone. There's hope and a path toward healing. Despite their faith, courage and boldness, Biblical characters were not immune from feeling the brokenness of the mind.
